FACE LIFT IN BATON ROUGE, LA

Face Lift

Your face is an important part of your identity and significantly influences how others perceive you. Inevitably, the youthfulness and freshness of our faces is affected by time (natural aging), sun exposure, gravity, and the stresses of daily life. This leads to a less-than-ideal appearance with deep creases beside the mouth, a slackened and jowly jawline, as well as loose folds and fat deposits in the neck. Luckily though, a facelift cosmetic procedure can help address these imperfections to give your face a fresher and more youthful look. This procedure is perfect for both men and women who are looking to turn back the hand of time so that their face looks up to 10 years younger.

Dr. Ruston Sanchez has helped countless men and women from Baton Rouge and surrounding Louisiana areas re-invent their facial appearance with facelift surgery. He utilizes the latest technology and modern treatment approaches to achieve the desired results while minimizing the risks and complications associated with this procedure. Many of Dr. Ruston Sanchez’s facelift patients find that they enjoy improved self-image and confidence as a result of this treatment.

Who is a Candidate for the Timeless Face Procedure

A facelift procedure can help address a variety of concerns, including:

  • Deep wrinkles on your cheeks
  • Sagging skin near your cheekbones
  • General skin looseness in the middle face, jawline, or neck
  • Loss of volume in the face or neck areas
  • Excess fatty tissue on the neck or under the chin

Good candidates for this procedure are men and women who wish to improve the concerns indicated above and also meet the following requirements:

  • Have good physical and emotional health.
  • Are considering a facelift procedure for personal reasons, not to please someone else.
  • Have realistic expectations about the outcome of this treatment.
  • Do not smoke.

During your initial consultation with Dr. Ruston Sanchez, the surgeon will ask questions and let you know whether this procedure is for you. Should you be a good candidate, Dr. Ruston Sanchez will create a personalized treatment plan to achieve your desired cosmetic outcome.

Types of Facelifts

In choosing the right procedure for you, it is important to understand that there are many different types of facelifts. Some facelifts address cosmetic concerns in the upper face, while others focus on the lower face region. Also, some techniques are a little more invasive than others.

The right type of facelift will vary from one patient to the other. Full (traditional) facelifts are typically used to significantly reverse the effects of aging. Smaller facelifts usually only tighten the skin around the front of the ears to help patients with minimal jowling. These procedures may also be used as a ‘maintenance’ treatment for patients who already had a traditional facelift. During your initial consultation visit at Your Clinic, Dr. Ruston Sanchez will discuss the pros and cons of each.

FULL FACELIFT

Also referred to as a ‘traditional’ facelift, this option is popular with older adults. The surgeon will make an incision near the hairline going down to the temple and use it to redrape the skin and tighten the deeper layers of facial muscles. Dr. Sanchez specifically utilizes an extended SMAS technique for this procedure. This helps create a smooth appearance while getting rid of wrinkling and sagging. Traditional facelifts tend to be ideal for patients who are looking to reverse signs of aggressive aging. Depending on the needs of the patient, the surgeon may also utilize additional techniques such as midface fat grafting, eyelid lift, or neck reduction to achieve the desired outcome.

MIDFACE LIFT

This type of facelift procedure is also referred to as a cheek lift, and is often performed endoscopically through a hairline incision. It is an excellent procedure choice for men or women who are looking to get rid of drooping around the cheekbones and upper jaw.

LOWER FACELIFT

A lower facelift cosmetic procedure will focus on contouring the chin and neck region. In some cases, surgeons will use this type of procedure to address jowls. The technique to be used may vary from neck liposuction to cheek augmentation, and more (as required).

MINI FACELIFT

This is a less invasive, minimal facelift that entails a tiny incision near the ears. The surgeon will elevate the skin in order to address cosmetic issues in the mouth and jawline. A mini facelift usually just achieves minor enhancements and can be the ideal procedure for patients who have minimal drooping and wrinkling.

Facelift LA
Complementary Procedures

In order to give you the most natural-looking and aesthetically attractive result, Your Surgeon may combine your facelift with any of the following procedures:

Eyelid Surgery

The eyelids tend to age and Your Surgeon may incorporate eyelid surgery into your facelift in order to achieve the desired outcome. This procedure – also referred to as blepharoplasty – gets rid of excess skin, muscle, and fatty tissue. While eyelid surgery is usually performed for cosmetic reasons, it may also be used to improve vision.

Brow Lift
Also referred to as a forehead lift, a brow lift rejuvenates the face (right above the eyes) in order to restore a youthful and refreshed appearance that shows natural vibrance. The surgeon will achieve this by getting rid of excess sagging skin on the forehead and then repositioning the underlying muscles and tissues. This complementary option is typically recommended for patients with a heavy, sagging brow or deep furrows to the upper one-third of their face.
Fat Grafting

This is a cosmetic method that uses surplus fat cells extracted from another area of the body to improve facial appearance.Dr. Ruston Sanchez may use this complimentary method as a technique to restore volume for patients who have facial scarring (e.g. acne scars), diseases such as hemifacial atrophy, or sunken cheeks and facial lines.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Also referred to as laser peel, lasabrasion, and laser vaporization, this method can help reduce facial blemishes, scars, and wrinkling in order to complete your facelift treatment. Dr. Ruston Sanchez’s uses advanced laser technologies that give him a high level of precision, particularly in delicate areas.

CoolSculpting

This is an effective, non-invasive face sculpting treatment that can restore a firm, fresh, and more youthful appeal. Dr. Ruston Sanchez and his team may use this complementary treatment to create a better-defined chin line while also reducing the appearance of “double chins”. Coolsculpting works by freezing and eliminating fat cells in the target facial areas.

RHYTIDECTOMY

Facelift Procedure Steps

Dr. Ruston Sanchez performs LA facelift surgery as an outpatient procedure. Depending on the needs of the patient, local or general anesthesia may be used. Once the patient is made comfortable, the surgeon will make small incisions and use them to tighten the underlying muscles. The type of incision made will vary depending on the type of facelift that is being performed. Dr. Ruston Sanchez may also remove excess fat to achieve the desired outcome. Once this process is complete, the surgeon will use fine sutures and protective dressing to cover the treatment area.
Facelift surgery takes about 2-3 hours to complete. After the procedure, Dr. Ruston Sanchez will release the patient into the care of an adult family member, colleague or friend who will drive them home to continue with recovery.

Recovery after a facelift in Baton Rouge

Dr. Ruston Sanchez recommends that you find a friend or family member to help out with basic chores for a day or two after facelift surgery. This will give you space and rest you need to embark on your recovery journey. Most patients experience pain and minor bruising in the treatment areas, but this usually subsides after a couple of days. Furthermore, Dr. Ruston Sanchez will provide pain medication to improve your comfort level. You may be asked to avoid washing your hair or taking a shower until after 48 hours.

Support your healing process

In order to make sure that your recovery is uninterrupted and incidence free, Dr. Ruston Sanchez may also ask you to:

Take enough rest

Your body needs adequate rest to recover from facelift surgery. Make sure to keep your head elevated while sleeping or resting in order to improve your comfort especially during the first few days after surgery. Avoid bending over or making any sudden movements until after you have got the green light from Your Surgeon. You will also be required to wear a compression garment for up to 3 weeks in order to help the healing process.

Watch out for unusual sensations

It is common for patients to experience mild numbness in the treatment areas throughout the recovery period. Tightness in the neck muscles is also common. However, if you experience any unusual sensation or concerning symptoms at any point during recovery, make sure to get in touch with Dr. Ruston Sanchez’s office.

Attend post-op appointments

Dr. Ruston Sanchez typically asks his facelift patients to show up the first or second day after the surgery so he can assess the incisions and remove the dressings. Make sure to honor these post-op appointments because they are meant to make sure that everything goes on well during recovery. If you have any questions about the recovery process or outcome of the procedure, you can use this appointment to gain more clarity from the surgeon. A second and third visit may be required in order to remove the stitches and sutures behind your ears.

The majority of Dr. Ruston Sanchez’s LA facelift patients are able to return to work and normal activities within a week. However, you are required to avoid strenuous exercise and vigorous activities until after you get the go-ahead from the surgeon.

FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the cost of a facelift?

The cost of your Baton Rouge facelift will be influenced by a variety of factors, including the extent of the procedure as well as the surgeon’s skill and experience. Other factors that play into the cost include the facility fees, anesthesiologist fees, and medication fees. During your initial visit to Sanchez Plastic Surgery, Dr. Ruston Sanchez’s team will provide you with a cost estimate.

What is a mini facelift?

This is a minimal facelift procedure that can be ideal for patients who need minor cosmetic adjustments. Dr. Ruston Sanchez will make a shorter incision and tighten the skin to achieve a fresher facial appearance in target areas. Because a mini (short-scar) facelift is less invasive, the improvements are minimal compared to a traditional (full) facelift.

Surgical vs nonsurgical facelift?
Non-surgical facelift treatments such as dermal fillers and fat injections can achieve minor cosmetic improvements without the downtime of surgery. Also referred to as the lunchtime facelift, this kind of treatment can be completed in about 45 minutes. However, the results are less dramatic and temporary (it will need to be repeated every few months in order to sustain the newfound appearance). A surgical facelift – on the other hand – offers effective, long-term, and dramatic improvements to your facial and neck appearance.
Are results permanent?
While a facelift can reverse the effects of facial aging for up to 10 years, it is no permanent solution to aging. You will be able to enjoy the result of this cosmetic treatment as soon as you have healed.
